Men's guide: How to choose a good suit (and how to wear one)

Most men will need to wear a suit at one point in their lifetime.

Picking the right one could be a tricky affair, but not so if you always have these tips in mind.

Purpose of wearing the suit is always important: Whether you are picking one for the first time or you do this quite a lot, some important questions to ask yourself are: "Why am I going for this particular suit?" "Do I need the formal or casual look for this particular ocassion?"

Three golden tips to remember when it comes to picking a good suit are:
Versatility, style and fit.

1> Versatility- As a general rule, its best to invest your money in a suit that can serve you for more than one occasion.
On picking a first suit, opting for black can be a bit of a bore, as it tends to give you strictly a formal look and nothing else, offering less flexibility.
Personally, I would recommend a deep hue of blue(plain or striped), purple or grey for a first suit, as these colours can easily be played and also go pretty well with different shades of pants.

2> Style- Except of course you're to play the role of an actor in some '80s classic re-make, you do not want to get stuck in a rut still rocking old trends. New styles  are good for you. Embrace them.

3> Fit- The importance of a well-fitted suit cannot be over emphasized. A oversized suit or a really tiny one would do you no justice, so its really all about striking a balance. Snug is the word. A good suit should feel comfortable, while offering a bit of grip on the wearer. Here's a visual guide to how a suit should fit.
