Legendary designer Oscar de la Renta dies @82

Famed Dominican-American designer, Oscar de la Renta known for having dressed popular A-list celebrities and royals for over 50 years has passed on.

He rose to fame internationally after getting the job be one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1960s and has been a permanent name in the fashion world, styling numerous celebrities including just recently, George Clooney's bride, Amal Alamuddin.

At a series event, "Fashion Talks" in New York in June 2013 he was quoted as saying:

"The only realities in life are that you are born, and that you
die," "We always think we are going to live
forever. The dying aspect we will never accept. The one thing about having this kind of warning is how you appreciate every single day of life."

He was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and died in his home in Kent, Connecticut October 20, 2014.

He was 82.
